In a complaint filed with the ITC last week, Ethicon accused Intuitive’s EndoWrist and SureForm endocutters of infringing five of its patents.
“Ethicon is a longstanding innovator and has developed handheld endocutters for numerous types of surgeries since the 1990s. Ethicon has invested years and millions of dollars in scientific studies and physician training to support its endocutters,” according to the complaint.
Ethicon wants the ITC to enact a permanent limited exclusion order and a permanent cease & desist order for the Intuitive endocutters, reloads and components.
